Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) First Steps Legal Programme for S4/S5 pupils from 10th – 14th June 2019.

First Steps Legal Programme is a week-long experience programme which includes talks, interactive workshops and other experiences aimed at providing pupils with an insight into what it’s like to work in the legal profession. Please see the attached poster for more details.

How do pupils apply?

LEAPS S5 Parents’ & Carers’ Information Evening

  • Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh Campus (Riccarton)

This information evening is for parents and carers of S5 LEAPS-eligible students.

Find out about the support LEAPS offers to LEAPS-eligible students who are thinking about applying for higher education courses at college (HNC/HND) or university.

  • Find out about the support LEAPS offers to LEAPS-eligible students throughout S5 and S6.
  • Get advice and information on choosing and applying for higher education courses.
  • Speak to local colleges and universities at our Higher Education Exhibition.
  • Hear from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) about funding.
  • Hear from current students who will share their own experiences of applying to, and life at, university.

Public transport reimbursement available. For our S5 Parents’ & Carers’ Information Evening we’re offering public transport reimbursement to help families travel to and from the event.

Student can join their parent/carers at this event, if they wish.

Free return coaches from outlying areas.

Public transport reimbursement available.

For our S5 Conference we’re running free return coaches from outlying areas to help students travel to and from the event as well as offering public transport reimbursement to those who don’t have a coach covering their area.

LEAPS Unicafe Sessions – February and March 2019

For final-year LEAPS-eligible students who are holding university offers or have applied to UCAS this year

Our unicafes are a friendly, informal place for you to learn more about what it’s really like starting university – with a complimentary hot drink and snack thrown in!

We are running three sessions, all of which will take place in a student union on a university campus:

Our cafes are hosted by current undergraduate students, so you can ask anything about making that transition to first year at uni. There’ll also be a chance to meet other current S6 students who may be going to the same university and/or town as you from September – a great chance to start building your university social network!
