Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) is Scotland’s Youth Employment Strategy which aims to develop a skilled workforce for Scotland’s future. We strive to embed employer engagement into the curriculum to help ensure our young people are best prepared for the world of work.
Drummond has a dedicated DYW School Coordinator from the DYW Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian regional group, who works alongside our entire school team and other partners to build strong and lasting relationships between our school and employers. These connections provide valuable opportunities for our young people to enhance their knowledge, skills, and experience in order to realise their post-school ambitions.
The DYW Coordinator supports the school to link with industry and encourages young people to identify and explore opportunities that help them feel more informed and inspired about their post-school options, while also equipping them with the tools that they will need to seize these opportunities.
