Cost of the school day

At Drummond, we aim to support a reduction in the cost of the school day in line with our CORE value of Equity.

From November 2022 we offer our community the opportunity to make donations of items that will support Drummond families.  These include, but are not limited to:

  • Good condition uniform (eg that your child has outgrown)
  • Good condition outdoor jackets (as above)
  • Good condition footwear (including trainers and football boots)

These donations will also support our drive for Sustainability in line with our commitment to Reduce, Re-use, Recycle.

We can also accept items of dried food (eg healthy cereal bars) & cartons of juice to provide snacks to pupils through the day and toiletries (deodorant, shampoo, shower gel – a range suitable for all pupils); these will be made available to S1-S6 via our ‘Take What You Need Trollies’ in tutor classes and at a stall at Parents’ Evenings.

Parents and carers are able to drop off donations on Parents’ Evenings and/or take any pre-loved items that are of benefit to their child(ren).  All parents and carers have the option of making a monetary donation (if they feel able to) via Parent Pay by selecting ‘Reducing the Cost of the School Day Donation’.  Any money raised will be used for the long-term maintenance and roll-out of additional Take What You Need Trollies so that these are available in all classrooms, not just morning tutor rooms.
